Andrew Blakey BA(Hons)

Senior Accounts Manager

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 with a small firm in York and has worked in the York and Leeds area throughout. In the 30 years since qualifying, Andrew has a wide experience at senior levels to audit, accounting, and taxation (both corporate and personal). His experience is in sectors as varied as Solicitors, Farming, Manufacturing, Consultancy, and Wholesaling.  Andrew gained his degree in Accountancy and Financial Management in 1986, before training with the firm in York.

 

Andrew has extensive knowledge of the taxation and required reporting requirements for owner-managed business regardless of their legal structure. His approach to advise on “commercial lead tax planning” to his clients – how to save tax but also continue to develop your business.

 

He feels that business need different types of advice during the lifespan and provides accordingly. The changes to the taxation rules on dividends and the reporting requirement for limited companies will impact many business and need to be planned for.

 

Andrew is involved in local football, being an ex-football referee. When the weather is better, Andrew spends a lot of time on courses (golf) trying to develop his skills, but failing badly.
